You are buying a
circa 1860s-80s 2 1/8” long x 1 1/8” wide STERLING SILVER matte finish enamelled locket. There is no silver or makers mark not uncommon for Victorian Jewelry so this piece has been nitric acid tested to guarantee. This piece was likely intended to have hair in it or an old tin type picture. The interior has a insert of some kind with a purple paper cover. The crystal cover is made of glass and original. The bail has an 8 x 3 mm opening so if you want to use your chain it should no be wider than 7 mm and no more than 2 mm thick.
The
condition is very good
no enamel losses or sterling frame damage. There is no visible wear issues to the bail.
