Presented is a lovely Victorian mourning pin in 14 karat gold and black onyx
or glass. This is an American piece dating to around the 1870s-1890s. The pin is
done as a bar of black onyx or glass, with a beautiful faceted ball of the same
material on either end and three dangles. Contrasting attractively with the
black are 14 karat  gold mounts and three natural seed pearls. The pin has
an old C style clasp.
The pin is in great condition. The glass or onyx is in great shape, with no
chips, no breaks, and no repairs. The clasp functions well and closes
securely.
The pin is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric acid
and guarantee it to be 14 karat gold.
The pin is about 2 1/2 inches long.
This piece weighs 9.3 grams.
